Mummy Pizzas - Pillsbury Gluten Free Pizza Dough Review

Pillsbury Gluten Free Mummy Pizzas

Have you seen Pillsbury’s new ready- made pizza dough in the refrigerated section of your grocery store?  They actually have three new gluten free dough varieties including pie crust, chocolate chip cookie dough, and the a fore mentioned pizza dough.  My blog post today focuses on the pizza crust.  I actually used it to make four individual mummy pizzas for a Halloween themed quick dinner.  Since I divided the dough into 4 versus using the dough to make one 11” pie I did adjust the baking time down a few minutes than what was recommended on the packaging as my quick video tutorial below demonstrates.

Generally speaking the dough is fairly easy to work with if you grease your hands and the baking sheet.  It has a very dense play-dough- like consistency.  It has a yeasty aroma that reminded me of soft pretzels.  The finished product is a very dense dough that my daughter liked far more than I did.  As far as gluten free pizzas go, I’d say it’s acceptable but nothing to really brag about.  It’s pretty expensive too as mine was purchased for $5.69 at my local Shoprite.  With gluten free thin crust pizza being fairly easy to make from scratch I doubt I’d be purchasing this again unless there’s a major sale.

  1. Why suffer good pizza if you could make a great pizza that'll wow your friends and family? Making a good pizza into a masterpiece is not that hard to do. You've just got to focus on these essential parts of the pizza: sauce, cheese, crust, and toppings. Family Restaurant
