Rise Bar Giveaway

Rise Bars - The Perfect Quick Bite

One of the perks of my gluten free food blog is that periodically I’m contacted by a company that wants me to do a review.  Recently I encountered such good fortune when I was contacted by the Rise Bar company to sample their nutritious bars. I jumped at the chance even though I’m not usually a bar person.  For me when it comes to snacking or meals I usually don't go for prepackaged snacks or meal replacement bars.  Regardless of my skepticism, free food is always exciting.

The bars are all made in a dedicated gluten free facility.  Some of the bars are vegan.  The protein bars are high in protein of course with some having 3 times the protein of an egg. The bars contain many organic ingredients and have no GMO’s.  Considering some of the things I’ve read about genetically modified organisms in our food supply, I smiled knowing these bars were safe.

The Rise Bar company sent a variety pack of 12 bars which included (4) Breakfast Bars, (4) Energy Bars and (4) Protein bars in the flavors listed below.

Breakfast Bars:
  • Crunchy Macadamia Pineapple
  • Crunchy Cashew Almond
  • Crunchy Cranberry Apple
  • Crunchy Perfect Pumpkin
Energy Bars:
  • Coconut Acai
  • Raspberry Pomegranate
  • Blueberry Coconut
  • Apricot Goji
 Protein Bars:
  • Almond Honey
  • Crunchy Carob Chip
  • Sunflower Cinnamon
  • Lemon Cashew
When the bars arrived, the first thing that struck me as different was the brevity of the ingredients lists on the bars.  For instance the Lemon Cashew Protein Bars contain only: Cashews, Coconut Nectar, Pea Protein, and Lemon Extract.

The Almond Honey bars for instance only have three ingredients:  Almonds, Honey, and Whey Protein Isolate

Each day my 12 year old daughter and I sampled one or two different bars.  We’d cut them in half so that we could each get to try them before discussing the flavor, texture etc.  They were all good.  My daughter preferred the breakfast bars and energy bars over the protein bars.  She liked the crunchy textural elements that many of those bars provided while the protein bars had a more chewy candy consistency.

I found that the high protein content in the protein bars was best at staving off hunger for me.  I found I was able to go a long period of time without snacking with a protein bar in my tummy.  They all tasted very natural unlike many of the sickeningly sweet bars that are on the market.  My daughter is already asking for more of the crunch cashew almond bars and is quite upset that I ate the other half of the bar.

In short if you are looking for delicious, highly nutritious, gluten free bars that don’t contain GMO’s this is the bar for you.  They’d be great to keep in your handbag for a quick snack or small meal replacement.  They’re great for refueling after a workout or any other time that you need a quick pick-me-up.

Now for the Good News!
